An Unsent Letter to the Beloved ﷺ
A letter to my beloved Prophet, peace be upon him.
Little did I know about you, O Muhammad, peace be upon him, Yet, just hearing your beloved name fills my heart with love.
I imagine, how could anyone be like you? Indeed, Allah has not created anyone like you.
Since my childhood, I have yearned to be like you, To follow your ways, to imitate your every action, no matter how small.
When I hear about the Sahaba, I feel Rashk, How fortunate they were to see you, walk with you, talk with you, To ask you their questions, share their dreams, To be part of your joy and sorrow, to experience the warmth of iman And the contentment of Allah's eternal love with you.
How brave they were to express their opinions to you, How clear their thinking, how exquisite their approach.
In every aspect of life, I strive to emulate my Sahaba, To draw closer to you and become beloved like them.
I simply want to be as you wish to see me.
Ever since I learned that Zamzam contains a drop of your blessed luaab, I feel doubly blessed every time I drink it, drawing nearer to you.
When I learned about your journey to Al-Isra and Al-Mi'raj, How your vision was limited to what was allowed, I've been trying to adhere to it, even though I stumble.
O Muhammad, peace be upon you, when I heard that you listen to us when we visit the Raudha, I've eagerly awaited that moment to pour out my heart.
As I listen to your Seerah, I dream of being with you in those moments:
If I were with you like Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him), You would have embraced me, kept your hand on my head, I would have seen you day and night, and felt blessed to serve you.
If I were with you alongside Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), I might have had the chance to carry you on my back, Prepare a cave for you, and keep my horse ready for the Hijrah.
If I were with you in the time of Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him), I would have eagerly helped you dig the Khandaq, And that massive rock you crushed, I would have lent a hand.
If I were there when you visited the Raudha of Hazrat Aminah (may Allah be pleased with her), And you wept, I would have stood beside you and wept with you.
May Allah unite us in Jannah, and grant me a place near the steps of your palace, Where I may watch you whenever my heart desires.
May Allah instill in me the adab I lack to follow your Sunnah, And may my character transform into the character that befits your example.
Meeting you with these qualities is my ultimate dream, O Messenger of Allah.
